Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I recently had an abnormal pain in my right side of the abdomen due to which I had to undergo a few tests. It turned out to be a UTI. However the ultrasound and CT scanned revealed that there is mild calyactasis and hydronephrosis in the right kidney. There was no stone or other mass present. Despite taking antibiotics (I have not completed the course yet) for the infection, I still have a lot of pain and swelling around the kidney area. My urologist says I may ignore the swelling and pain and should stop the antibiotics. Should I see another doctor for a second opinion? Thanks
