Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I recently went to the ER for high blood pressure and chest pains. They did a drug screening and I tested positive for amphetamines and opiates. I later went home and read on the papers that Wellbutrin (bupropion) can give you a false positive. I mentioned this to my primary care physician and he told me that that wouldn't cause it. I don't know what made it positive. And a week after I met with him I was hospitalized for SI and SIB. And they tested me for drugs but this time I tested negative. I'm confused as to what made my first drug screening positive the first time around.
