Hi,
I saw an eye specialist on Friday. They were checking for eye ischemia in my eyes due to an eye exam 4 weeks earlier. I had zig zag symptoms and at the office exam, the doctor noted that at position of 3 and 6 in the left eye I had ischemia. I am 72 and very scared about losing my eye sight. I have over the years had flashing zig zag lines on the peripheral vision. in that eye and the right one too. Just never heard it was a threat. In CT I had a good eye doctor, but never said this diagnosis. I am in Columbia, SC at this practice, I felt I was in a manufacturing line because it took him 15 to 20 minutes of time and then, it was "call if you have flashes, floaters or shade symptoms". Then watch out, it is immediate surgery.
Well, whatever condition I have will be taken care of depending on the insurance coverage I have.
I was told it is genetic condition and may never turn into something serious and then again it may. It was not anything I did. Anyway, I don't know if you can help, but I will appreciate a reply. How do I go forward. I was tested pre-diabetic. Is that condition related to the eye condition. Is there something I can do. Do I need more sleep. I have been anxious due to this recent move from a house of 28 years and now in new location without the support network and then do not sleep enough. I have high blood pressure and am doing PT for a minor car accident injury about a month ago. Thank you,
Irene
