Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I sprained my ankle about a month ago and I finally got an MRI done and I got the results back and the results state that "There are full-thickness tears of the anterior talofibular ligament and calcaneofibular ligament with marked soft tissue edema and early scar remodeling." And also that "There are osseous contusions of the medial malleolus and medial aspect of the talus with associated impaction injury. There is a minor osseous contusion of the cuboid." What exactly does this mean? And is it likely that I am going to need surgery?
