Hi ... I Will Try To Keep This Succinct. Iam

Hi ... I will try to keep this succinct. Iam 56 yo male ... only had 5 sexual partners in my life .. none since 2003 save for the one I had in Jan 2013 which I shall relate. Had always been healthy until then.

Met woman in late Dec 2012 who told me she had fibromyalgia. Her symptoms match what I read about it - severe and chronic muscle pain, cognitive issues. We had brief relationship and, on two occasions, unprotected sex. We broke up shortly thereafter.

About three weeks after last sexual encounter I was hit by flu-like symptoms, severe muscle pain, neurological problems (like nerves firing on their own) ... especially in my legs and upper arms. Also really severe night sweating.

This lasted maybe a month ,... then diminished over another couple of months and finally went away completely. At six months I was tested for STDs - all those that are testable in men. All negative. Iwas still worried, so retested at one year ...again all negative.

Then this October I had an outbreak ... this time with genital symptoms that had not occurred previously. Started with pain at tip of penis. Then within a week or so, white mottling on penis tip followed later by a reddish wrinkling at that location. And then around anus, an eruption type sore appeared ... painful . Unfortunately I did not go in to have it cultured, and that area healed up within about 48 hours.

Finally ... the muscle pain and neurologic problems returned. That's been with me up until present ... though nerve issues are now very mild. Muscle pain though continues quite pronounced - again mainly in legs and upper arms.

My doctor is skeptical that there is any connection between my sex partner's fibromyalgia and my symptoms ... but to me it is hard to look at the sequence of events and my previous good health, and also the fact that the woman has been my only sex partner since 2003 ... and conclude that there is no connection.

Any thought on what I may have contracted? Note that I have no fatigue or cognitive issues ... so it is not like there is a direct parallel.

Thank you for any feedback you can give me.

Ken
