Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I'm a pretty fit 33 year old but feel like I have low energy most of the time. I hit the gym pretty hard when I go either doing high intensity cardio sessions or 90 minute weights sessions. I am also a landscaper, which is quite a physical job. Recently I just got back from a ten day meditation retreat in which I was very relaxed and thought it would be interesting to record my resting heart rate, on average it was 46 bpm. since I've been back I've done two intense workouts and it has gone up to 58 bpm. This was taken in the morning as soon as I wake up. Whilst away I had no caffeine also, just to completely rest my system. I had worried that I was over training before but thought the ten days away would sort me out. Do you think I am overtrained/fatigued? What would be my course of action now?
