Hi I've had what I've been told by my doctor is virus for over 7 weeks now. It started off as just what I would say a 'normal' cold so I just took cold remedies. The 2nd week I started coughing really bad and was bringing up frothy mucus/saliva, waking up in the middle of the night having coughing fits for up 15 minutes where I struggled to breathe. This was happening for around 3 weeks I got prescribed a throat spray although my throat felt fine at this point. Next week I was still coughing but just saliva coming up and I was prescribed lansoprizole as i said I had been experiencing heart burn. I was on lansoprizole for two weeks my cough died down a lot but now I am clearing my throat constantly and getting a scratchy throat which is making me cough till I vomit which is making my throat sore. Any ideas?
