My aunt, 69 yrs, has been diagnosed with Hemochromotosis, blood letting q 2 wks has resulted in a drop from 44 to 42. Hemotologist wants it at 38. Her distal common bile duct from liver is enlarged to0.5. Pancreatic duct .15. CT showed blockage at tip of pancreas, going to have ERCP to biopsy area,Ferritin level at 1,000 so my aunt told me today, very tired, trouble digesting meat/protein, bruising for past 1-2 yrs, improved since d/c Vit.E,joints and legs sore,vertigo, is afraid of what they will find. I have looked at CA Treatment Centers of America in case. Could her Ferritin really be that high? Her Hematologist/Oncologist told her today she suspects Pancreatic CA and Liver CA, but won't know until ERCP is done, scheduling for her now.
