Hi! My Friend Has A White/yellowish Ulcer/sore Under His Tongue

Hi! My friend has a white/yellowish ulcer/sore under his tongue on the bottom left side just off the middle. It is on the floor of the mouth and has an appearance somewhat like a scab might when it has been wet. It appears to have caused a hole in the area and is about the size of a dime. it is extremely painful at times. It started a couple of months ago and first appeared as an area that just felt a little rough or course to the touch. Within a month, it formed a cylindrical hole about the size of a pencil eraser. It had a white border appeared as deep as it was round. No puss but had an unpleasant taste and was becoming painful. After a few days, it would scab over. at times it appeared to have shed the scab and looked like a fresh wound/sore. He kept thinking it was getting better and then it would be bigger! He went to a prompt care to be examined and they told him it could be cancer or a bacterial infection. He was told to rinse with salt water and take Ibuprophen. He was told that a bacterial infection would clear up in 7 to 10 days. No antibiotics were prescribed. Two weeks later, he returned with the condition worse and there two lesions now. The other one appearing on the outer gum on the right, lower mandible just below the teeth. A different doctor saw him and wondered why he wasn't prescribed antibiotics and discharged him with Penicillin and instructions to follow up with a dentist in a week. About a week later, with no change in condition, he went to Aspen Dental and they performed a Vizalite test with the blue stain. He was told that it clearly showed the presence of the dye and to schedule an apt with an oral surgeon immediately and have a biopsy performed. They even checked with him the following day to make sure he had made the appointment. Another week later, he met with Dr. Lynn Highland(sp?) and he had a biopsy of the area performed. He has an appointment this Monday Oct.5th to discuss the results. His mother called and spoke with the office nurse 5 days after the biopsy and she said that there was no mention of cancer in the report she saw. What are your feelings about what this may be? There are several possibilities according to any research found online! The two that best fit the symptoms are oral cancer or Aphthous Stomatitis. Any advise would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
