Hi. My name is Charlene. I am 21 years old and have a few concerns about my pregnancy. I have a referral to the royal Alexander hospital, from a normal medicenter Doctor due to the fact I didn't have an obgyn and I am high risk. My appointment is not until October 3, so I wanted to get some insight on what I should be doing until then. When I was 6 years old I had an open heart surgery, I don't remember exactly what for, but I went under again when I was 16, this time to replace my mitro valve with a pig valve. When I was 18 I had a scoliosis surgery and now have two titanium rods that begin at the top of my back and go down to my tailbone. Also, this is not my first pregnancy. I have been pregnant twice before, once when I was 17 and I had an abortion. The second, when I was 20, and I miscarried for unknown reasons. This time they took a closer look and I found out my partner and I are not a compatible blood match. This increases my risk of blood clots if the babies blood mixes with mine. Also, I have been taking 81mg of aspirin daily for my heart as I'm already at risk of blood clots. I am not able to see my cardiologist at this time as he is a very busy guy, but am waiting on it.
