Hi. Three Weeks Ago I Went To Doctor For Constant

Hi. Three weeks ago I went to doctor for constant coughing, scratchy throat, feeling of fluid in ears.
I was prescribed Zithromax z-pak, steroid and cough medicine with codeine. I continued to cough constantly with yellow, green phlegm. Ten days later I called doctor office with same symptoms. He called in prescription for another antibiotic Cefdnir. 2 days later only coughing up clear/white mucus. Still constantly coughing unable to sleep. I just want to sleep, nothing else. So I go back to the doctor, he does a chest X-ray and it looks normal. But he gives me a stronger cough syrup. It works great at night (the only time I take it) because it’s so strong). As soon as I get out of bed in the morning I’m strangling trying to get the mucus out. The coughing starts again.
Back in October I was diagnosed with a provoked pulmonary embolism (long flight from Germany). I’ve been on Eliquis for almost 6 months. I see my hematologist on Wednesday for bloodwork.
Should I just wait this persistent coughing out. Our ask again to see my doctor?
