Hi! Two Years Ago I Discovered What Seemed Like A

Hi! Two years ago I discovered what seemed like a little firm lump under my skin, bikini zone, that wasn't going away after a while, like it normally happened when I had ingrown hair. It lingered for months and my GP referred me to a local hospital gynecology department. As a foreigner who wasn't used to local healthcare system in Australia, I just went along when they proposed a surgery, without asking for non-invasive options. I haven't been seen by a venero-dermatologist to try to determine the reason and attempt to diagnose, but I only realized that afterwards. I thought we will know what was the underlying cause after the surgery, but that was not the case. When I asked, they said it was surgery of 'mons pubis sinus tract de-roofing' and the cause of abscesses is not known - possibly foliculitis or HS' as I suggested it. After the surgery (which was 6 months ago) the puss accumulated again, so they had to open me again. The second surgery was about a month ago. The wound was at first ( both times!) healing fast ( it was an open wound - secondary healing) and closed within a fortnight. But, then about a month or so, the wound would start being very sore. Atm. I am taking Clyndamicin ( surgeon said I should apply it twice a day for as long period I want, even years to prevent recurrence of the ingrown hair) and my GP gave me Doxycycline tablets ( 50 mg) a week ago. 3-4 days I got this unbearable irritation, burning, itch and redness around the wound and the entire area is not possible to soothe with ointments - I used white petroleum gel, Solosite (hydrogel) or salt sitz baths. I wonder if I should cease with Doxycycline or what? I apologize for the lengthy letter. It's just that I am getting really desperate with this problem taking years and it's still far from being over. On top of it, it's the holiday season and even after NY, when I can reach my GP practice - I am not sure when I will be able to afford another trip to see the doctor. Thank you so much for your time!!!
