Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a lady that just started seeing someone that has HepB. I am glad he told me about it right before he asked me out even if it was a sad thing to hear. He has a low viral load and the disease is currently dormant. I am in the process of getting the vaccine. I took the first shot a few days ago and have one shot to take in a couple of days and another at the end of this month. The last shot will be taken after a year. My question is; can i be someone (possibly marriage and start having kids) with the virus? Is this a deal breaker knowing fully well that he's got the disease and I do not have the disease? How long will the vaccine last in my body? Can I start having sexual intercourse (with or without protection) after the third shot at the end of this month before the final shot coming up after a year? Can I kiss him? Thanks
