Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi can you please explain my MRI report to me? I had an MRI done in 2010 and the diagnosis was Lumbar disc displacement. And the findings were: There is borderline diffuse congenital narrowing of the lumbar spinal canal. Early disc degeneration is present at L5-S1. Since i have been having horrible back pain lately my new doctor ordered a new MRI. On the new one the findings say: There is preservation of vertebral body height throughout the lumbar spine. No compression fracture is noted. And the impression says: At the L4-L5 level, slight circumferential disc bulge noted with mild bilateral posterior facet hypertrophic degenerative changes. No prominent disc protrusion, central canal stenosis or neural foraminal narrowing noted. Why doesn't the new MRI say anything about the lumbar disc displacement and the congenital narrowing of the lumbar spinal canal? And what does the findings and impression on the new one mean?
