Hi first, I should say I have taken prilosec otc for years. And I mentioned it to my dr and she didnt seem conerned about that.
I am 61 years old. 5/5". I have gained weight, 274 lbs.
I began to try and change eating habits, smaller portions and I have been eating lots of raw spinach salads with apples, avocado, celery, sunflower seeds and using a small amount of low calorie salad dressing. When I eat these raw salads it is a plateful of mostly the raw spinach. A large amount.
I exercise too. I iost 40 lbs so far.
But my bm had stopped. Two weeks and I was getting worried. I tried miralax 2 xs a day and no response. I then tried prune juice, hot. I drank 2 mugfuls. Within a half hour I finally had to go, never hard, but soft. And not as much as it used to be when i over ate. but it has been 2 weeks.
I had drunk more prune juice and only had a little more it looked like brown oatmeal.
Now I was wondering since the spinach was a lot, and raw. I wasn't getting enough acid to digest it because I take prilosec about once every 3 days.
Maybe the spinach is like a large mass, still somewhere in the intestine for 2 weeks, and stuff is just flowing around it? I stopped eating raw veggies, now I cook them.
It's been 4 days since the bm after the prune juice. Last night I ate cooked yellow squash, pinto bean dish, and some brown rice.
Today, after oatmeal and one apple with some milk and my coffee this morning I had to go, and it was soft, but not much.
I want to get more prune juice and try to clean things out.
And I want to try Braggs raw apple cider added to some water to get some digestive juices going.
My question is does this sound about right, is it the raw spinach and the prilosec together causing no bm for 2 weeks you think? Should I stop eating raw veggies like spinach. Is my body in shock, lol, from getting far less food?
And Should I see the dr.?
