Hi I Was Woken Up Last Night By A Sudden

Hi i was woken up last night by a sudden burning sensation over about a quarter of my bottom lip on the left, i rubbed my tongue over the area and it felt different to the other side of my lip, it had a distinct ridged line over a small part as well as that side of my lip feeling softer or spongier, i went to look in the mirror and there was a small red line indented horizontally over the portion of the affected area around 1 mill thick and about 5 mill long and felt very uncomfortable and painful enough to wake me up at 3 in the morning. The burning sensation subsided over the course of about 30 min and am no longer in any discomfort. However this occurrence felt very strange and out of the ordinary and was wondering what this might have been.
