Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my 9year old daughter has had sore glands for a few days and has come home from school complaining of a really sore arm and armpit. On closer inspection I found a distinct line from her thumb to her underarm. I didn't know she had an infection until today as she never complained of a sore thumb until now. My question is that when I called the medical rooms the nurse wasn't concerned at all and told me to bring her in tomorrow for some antibiotics. I feel a little uneasy about leaving it that long as I know there is a real fear of septicaemia if left, am I right to be concerned? I have thoroughly cleaned her thumb and put some Foban cream on it and put a few band aids to cover it. What is your opinion? Would this be enough until tomorrow? Thanks in advance for your answer, Concerned mum
