Hi, my dad 74 years old had blood work done last year with 138 platelets count ,12.2 hemoglobin and 39.3 hematocrit he reapeted the test this year after taking iron supplements twice. The results for this year were 114 platelets count , 14.4 hemoglobin and 45 hematocrit. He complains of being fatigued always and he has COPD too. Is his platelets count dangerous and does he need to see hematologist?
