Hi, my mother is 94.4 years.. she has fallen 3x in the past 3 mos. the first two falls showed a slight bleed in the back of her brain.. the neurologist surgeons did not think they were sever enough to drain, surgery.. the scans showed a thin line of old blood.. she fell again in her room at assisted living. She was sent to icu because this time she has two subdurals on each side of her brain. The scans this time showed significant bleeds.. they gave her plasma and the active bleeding has stopped. The doctors did not recommend surgery again due to her age.. I agreed.. they sent her to long term skilled nursing at a long term/ rehab facility. They said they were to make her comfortable.. she has been there since Tues. of last week.. she is now keeping her mouth closed tight, no talking, and it appears no one is feeding her when I’m not there. Also she is not moving her right arm.. she was cognitive when she went in.. it appears they are keeping her on drugs to keep her asleep.. I have her meds list but cannot find any new meds since the last list I have on Mar 8.. I am asking for a meeting with the doctor tomorrow.. also, mother does have a DNR right.... your opinion please.. does this sound like normal behavior for her current medical status? Also, she does have late stage dementia... thank you.
