Hi my name is Cathy, I am 60 years old,in 2011 I tore my ACL and meniscus, when I had surgery the Dr. did ACL repair and broke patella so he fixed that, 3 months after surgery had DVTs kept having a lot of pain and swelling went for second opinion meniscus was never repaired so in 2013 had partial medial meniscectomy and had the medial tibial interference screw removed because with xray showed it was backing out. kept having a lot of pain and swelling, on my feet a lot I am a medical assistant for 3 doctors. So I went back to Dr in 2014 to see if anything else could be done in Sept he went in for exploratory and had to do total medial meniscectomy and needed a knee replacement.. he sent me to therapy for 6 weeks before surgery I had a green tree filter placed for previous dvt's, so in Nov. 2014 I had total knee replacement started and did my therapy, still in therapy now, still having a lot of pain and swelling and substantial discomfort in medial knee joint that has not changed with any form of treatment,, had steroid and cortisone shots, dry needling, electrical stimulation, ultrasound/phonophoresis, cryotherapy, hot packs, ice. My Dr for the last 2 months said he cannot figure out why I am still having so much pain and swelling in the medial area, he said to do more hamstring exercises well I have done that and even more therapy and NOTHING has eased the pain and swelling I am going back to him on Friday 4/17/15. I asked him last month about 4 more weeks of therapy could I consider going back to work in May he didn't want to discuss that, well I know the way my leg is I cannot go to work because it is no better as a matter of fact the pain and swelling is not gotten any better, would you think I need to get another 2nd opinion I just don't know what to do anymore, I do not take pain meds I take aleve and he did put me on Mobic but nothing helps... Just kind of frustrated I know people that had the same thing done in January and are do much better... please help me
