Hi, So My Question Is If I'm Using Too Much

Hi, so my question is if I'm using too much carmex. My lips have been severely chapped due to the cold weather, and before I've been using the lemonade blistex which seemed to make it even worse. It got to the point to where my lips swelled up. I went to Rite Aid and got carmex. It's been 3 days, and my lips are still super chapped. After application, my lips dry out after about 15 minutes or less, so I apply more. It says on the package to not apply it more than 4 times a day so now I'm really worried. My lips, though they've been this way since they got chapped, are super pale and I could be imagining this but I think I see purple on the corners. What do I do? Am I using too much carmex? And possibly how can I solve this chapped-lips craze? I'm 16 years old by the way. Thank you!
