Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a question it is regarding my husband. I will first give a background on his issues. Other then what I am about to mention, he has been healthy. He is a 33 year old man.
He has almost always had issues with his stomach. When I say issues I mean whenever he eats it usually sends him to the bathroom. He goes more then a few times a day and sometimes its even diarrhea once a day or more depending on what he ate. Of course time will pass with no diarrhea just regular frequent bathroom visits. He does get hemorrhoids often as well but may I add he is a truck driver and is constantly sitting and not always eating home cooked meals, a lot of the time it's food from truck stops.
He is out of town right now for work and has had a problem since last Saturday. On Saturday it started with diarrhea in the morning. At times every half hour to an hour to two hours. Needless to say it was often. In the afternoon he began to see mucus in his stool. By Sunday it was pretty much just mucus coming out without the stool itself. And the bathroom frequency continued but a little less. After a few days the urge lessened but was still often. Sometimes regular stools sometimes diarrhea and often the mucus.
Today is Thursday. He began to see blood. It now has turned into just blood without the stool. Traces not a huge quantity.
He also has a frequent urge to pee. This began yesterday. He doesn't have to urinate though and it doesn't hurt or burn when he does.
Starting today he also starting having leg pain. In both legs he says he feels sore and like he has muscle aches as if he has played soccer all day. Its not usual for him to feel this as a truck driver. But of course it could be from sitting.
He is going to the doctor on Sunday once he comes back. But until then we wanted to get an idea of multiple things it could be. If you could possibly help us out from least worrisome medical condition to the most. I understand you can't give a diagnosis. But any conditions that may carry these symptoms. Just so we have an idea.
Thank you so much!
