Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was curious as to whether a genital herpes first outbreak can appear after 21 days post-exposure? I am slightly worried as I had genital-genital intercourse with a man who has never had penetrative sex with anyone else but has performed oral sex on one other woman in the past. So I'm thinking could transmission have occurred by having saliva used as a lubricant from him possibly having oral herpes?
So essentially; oral herpes to genital transmission with no direct oral sexual contact but saliva possibly have found it's way down there in the heat of the moment. And does it take longer than 21 days post-exposure?
Thanks
