Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi there, I'm 21 years old, and at the age of 17 had my gallbladder removed. Since then I've experienced attacks off and on, and I seem to be plagued with something called "tonsil stones". Not sure of the real medical term for them. I've read some articles that suggest these two conditions may be linked together. These stones often poke me in the sides of my throat and are extremely irritating. Often I will poke them out with a Q-tip because I just can't stand the irritation. Also when they come out they have a foul smell, and I seem to think I have worse breath than the average person even after brushing my teeth. I'm wondering if the tonsil stones could be why? And I also feel that my tonsils are constantly inflamed. I just need some advice on the course of action I should be taking with these concerns and whether a tonsil removal would be possible. Thank you so much for your time.
