My blood pressure is fairly constant during the day, at least for my age (66 male) - Numbers range from 126 to 140 (systolic). But during the night when I'm asleep, they spike to unacceptable levels (168-194 systolic). I will awake around early morning hours, take my pressure, and it has spiked to abnormal levels. I am faithful with my meds, but they don't keep the high numbers down during the nighttime. Meds include 40mg Benicar, 50mg Atenolol and .1 clonidine if BP rises over 150. I am in good health, often road biking 20 to 25 miles a day and lift free weight for 30 minutes a day. Is there something else I need to do to drive my BP numbers down?
