High Fever, Back Pain, Loss Of Appetite, Pale Skin, Yellowish Diarrhea, Frequent Urination. Treatment Options?
Dear Dr. My father has been suffering from high fever in addition to back pain for the past 4 days in addition to these symptoms he has no appetite , his skin is a pale and we have noticed yellowish stool ... now the fever has gone only chills , back pain , frequent urination , yellowish diarrhea and no appetite ... no vomiting at all
hello
welcome to hcm,
as per the details u have given, YOUR FATHER IS SUFFERING FROM ACUTE FEBRILE ILLNESS.
but we should need to find out the cause for the fever. and we have to rule out is this a VIRAL FEVER/ MALARIA/ TYPHOID
so we have to run some lab tests like
complete blood picture
blood for malaria
widal
dengue serology
urine anylysis
stool analysis
AFTER ALL ABOVE TESTS HAS BEEN DONE WE CAN COME TO CONCLUSION ABOUT ETIOLOGY AND WE CAN TREAT ACCORDINGLY
SO I SUGGEST U TO CONSULT A PHYSICIAN, NOW ITS VERY HARD TO SAY WITH ONLY FEVER AND SOME SYMPTOMS.
Thanks for posting on HCM,
Your father is obviously having an infection which needs to be checked for the cause and effective treatment given to him.
The cause of the infection might be situated in his GIT (enterocolitis) or UT (urinary tract infection).
Complete blood tests, stool exams, urinalysis and screening for typhoid and malaria should be done after being examined by a doctor. If cause determined then treatment with a course of antibiotics should be included. Analgesia and oral rehydration therapy should be included in his treatment for the pain and treatment + prevention of dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
Best wishes and hope this helps
