History Of Acinetobector Barillia Infection. Taken Antibiotic IVs. How Do I Know If Infection Is Gone Or Colonized?
I was infected with acinetobector barillia in a surgery last November. I had several other surgeries to clean up this infection and eventually lost the graft that started the whole thing. I was treated at home for 20 days with antibiotic IVs every four hours. My question is:how can I know if the infection is gone or colonized. My case was acute and I am a danger to my wife who has lupis. My doctors are not giving me direct answers; I think they fear a suit. I don't want to sue; I just want to get answers.
To know whether the infection has cleared up or not, a culture from the tissue / or blood is required. In case the infection still persists, more antibiotics to which the organism is sensitive will be required. Since, the infection is hospital acquired, it may be difficult to treat.
