Hello

Thanks for the query

If you had sexual intercourse 5 days before your periods then most likely you were in your safe period, in which case it is unlikely that you are pregnant. You have also taken ipill after the sexual intercourse so in all likelihood you are not pregnant. I advice you to wait for your periods, if you dont get it then please take a home urine pregnancy test which is easily available in any pharmacy

I strongly advice you to have protected sex or use a better for of contraception like being on oral contraceptive pills

I hope I was of help to you

Regards

Radiologist Dr. Vivek Chail's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing in to us.

What you have done is the right thing by taking iPill within 5 hours of unprotected sex. If you had unprotected sex 1.5 hours after taking iPill, there is no need to take another iPill.

Remember that iPill must be taken only in emergency and it can cause early or delayed periods for two cycles. Taking iPill regularly can cause cysts in ovary and irregular periods as it contains high dose of hormones.

Hope this helps
