Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
First of all, I would like to reassure you that your son's symptoms do not suggest any serious illness.
The tremors of the jaw are likely to be due to spasms, or
anxiety or a combination of both.
In rare cases,
dystonia of jaw muscles (a neurological condition) can cause jaw tremors.
In any case, there is no need to rush to the ER now. They should settle down in a day or two. If not, then, your son can consult a doctor.
I hope it helps. Please get back if you require any additional information.
Wishing you good health,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD (Internal Medicine), DM (Neurology)
