History Of Miscarriage. No Periods. Will Regestrone Work?
my wife had miscarrriage after five months of pregnecy in nov 2012 , no abnormalities found in any reports. Till may 2013 she had regular period. but since June suddnely periods started delaying by 9 , 15 and then This month it's not yet came. Doctor suggested Regestrone for 3 times in day for 7 days. Does this need any other medication or will get regular with this course. Is this ok or , is it indication of some problems ahead.

1. The 2nd trimester(5 month) miscarriage may be due to structural problem in the reproductive system. May be due to cervical incompetence as this is most common cause I had come across with 2nd trimester miscarriage. So I advice you to constantly check for the shape and length of cervix and based on that management can be planned.
2. Now th irregular periods may be due to hormonal imbalance. Regestrone for 7 days will help you for this cycle but she needs evaluation to find the cause for irregularity and then that should be treated. Get done USG abdomen and pelvis, TSH level and speculum examination once for diagnosis.
