Hello,

You had rubella infection last year. What is not clear from your question is if you are already pregnant or are you planning for pregnancy? Firstly IgM rubella by ELISA is not a very specific test and in general your titres are decreasing, so don't worry about that marginal increase of 0.3. There is no danger of recurrence in rubella so i don't understand why are you repeating this test so frequently. Once you get rubella infection/vaccination you develop life long immunity. Secondly there is no treatment for rubella. Please discuss with your doctor what medicine has been prescribed and for what purpose.

The danger of rubella infection is if you acquire it in the first 3 months of pregnancy. If that is not the case with you, please stop worrying and stop subjecting yourself to these unnecessary tests and treatment.

If you have any further queries do let me know.

Hope that helps.
Wishing you good luck.

Regards,
Dr.Preeti
