History Of Stent Implantation In Leg. Now Have Leg Pain. Suggestion?
I had a stent implanted in my left leg a year ago from what I understand the stent is 8 inches long. I felt good for about 3 months and started having pain in my left leg again. I had the stent ballooned and another stent extendion to the first done in April 2013, now they say the stents are not compatable and I am in a lot more pain then I was in before surgery. They say my option is to remove the stent and find a good vein or a plastic tube to replace it. I am 80 years old the pain in unbarable, what is you sugjestion. Don

With the explanation, now since the stent is not working even after ballooning, and its not compatible, removal or replacement is the line of management. Otherwise there may be severe pain, swelling and other complications. Based on the examination and investigations like doppler they can decide the best option considering your age also.
