Hit On The Elbow Causing Arm Weakness, Difficulty In Holding Things, Finger Tingling. History Of Tendon Surgery. Help?

I have had previous tendon surgery in October2012, yesterday I hit my elbow on the corner, It felt as if my whole arm became instantly weak with severe pain enough for me to stop me in my tracks. I then just started to rub it to see if I could feel any pain where I had the tendon repaired, it felt ok a little sore but not to bad. I can bend my elbow out but not completely strait and I have a hard time holding things without feeling pain. The pain that I am feeling is on the inside of my wrist upto to the inside of my elbow so this would be palm side. I also am experiencing a tingaling sensation just at the tips of my first 4 fingers not the thumb. I am concerned, any information would be helpful thank you.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome at HCM.

I have read details of your question.

It looks that you had injury to your ulnar nerve at elbow. This nerve passes behind inside area of elbow. There may be compression of nerve due to swelling at elbow region.

You should consult to your orthopedic doctor as early as possible. You should should do cold fomentation at affected area.Take a good anti inflammatory analgesic.

Hope this all will help you.

With best wishes.
