Hit Right Toe, No Pain However Swelling Continues. Is There Any Remedy To This?
Hi, I hit my right pinky toe two months ago against a vacuum cleaner. By evening time, it was very swollen, black and blue and I could not walk on it. Weeks have gone by. Could not see a doctor. Pain and bruising is gone. No pain but the swelling continues. Sometimes it looks normal but then it swells up again. I'm worried. Again I have no pain the swelling is constant. What can I do?
A very swollen, black and blue toe after injury is never normal. We need to exclude possibility of fracture.
Should control secondary infection with antibiotics. Prevent gangrene formation particularly, if you are a diabetic or chronic smoker or have peripheral vascular disease.
You may need x ray to rule of fracture. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have have any clarifications.
