About 1 year ago I was in hospital for a ruptured ovarian cyst my doctor then put me on the pill for 6 months wen my 6 months was up which was about january I stopped taking my pill cause of fear it could harm my chances of having kids since then my periods were normal until now I am just over a week late I have had nausua for about two weeks along with cramping and an upset stomach constipated one day diarrhea the next my nipples do seem to be getting bigger though my boobs do not hurt could o be pregnant or could I have another cyst?
Hello and welcome to HCM, In case you want to confirm or rule out pregnancy, you need to take up a pregnancy test. Conception is prevented when on oral contraceptive pills by prevention of ovulation. Ovulation resumes after a period of few months from the time of stopping the pill. You have mentioned that your periods are overdue to by a week. Variation in menstrual cycles can occur in normal menstruating cycles. Cramping and upset stomach are more suggestive of gastrointestinal tract rather than symptoms of pregnancy. An ovarian cyst usually presents with menorrhagia (excessive bleeding during menstruation, menstrual irregularities, pain abdomen etc). An ultrasound of the abdomen will help to know the presence / absence of ovarian cyst.
Hi, Thanks for writing in. Best way to sort this out is to have a pregnancy test & a pelvic ultrasound to rule out an ovarian cyst. All other signs are non-specific. Wish you best of luck.
