How I Can Prevent Urine Infection During Pregnancy ?

I am 26 years old and 25 weeks pregnant. All was fine until last week when my doc said that I have got a urine infection. She prescribed me amoxillin 3 times a day for 5 days. I have taken the prescribed dosage.Kindly advice as to how I can prevent urine infection during pregnancy. Will taking antibiotics help .I also have lot of white vaginal discharge these days and rarely I have some burning sensation while urinating.I can feel the baby movements well. I am fine otherwise.What are the other problems that I might be prone to at this stage of pregnancy. How can I be precautious against all this. Your kind advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

If you have documented urine infection you will have to take antibiotics.If it is repeatedly so better you go for urine culturee and sensitivity test get done.Little more than normal white discharge is acceptable during pregnancy. Burning along with it in absence of urinary infection can be treated with vaginal anti fungal and anti bacterials. At this stage of pregnancy you should take care to avoid premature delivery.Drink more water and urinate frequently and before bed time to avoid urine infection.
