How Accurate Is The Home Pregnancy Kit?

Hi doctor. I have a question. How accurate is the pregnancy kit is? the thing is that my wife had use the pergnancy kit and it shows a negative sign. We therefore when for a chest x rays. upon returning home, We found out that the test kit was showing positive to make it clear, we had been watching the kits in the morning for an hour. Is the result which had appear more than an hour can be use" Is there any affect towards the foetus?

1.Urine pregnancy test will give 97% accuracy after a missed period ( number of studies performed suggest - according to the literature)
2.In this case you have done it twice one before x-ray negative and one after that gives you positive ( one of those is false )
3.To confirm you can get a blood BHCG level which confirms the possibilities.
4.Once used kit can not be used as you asked, it will only gives you a false report.
5.The effect of x-ray possible, but only single exposure, in this case you have to make sure the NT scan and Anomaly are normal - once its clear you don't have to worry much regarding foetus. Good luck.
