How Are Shortness Of Breath And Interscapular Pain Treated?
Hi, I am a 58 yr old female, diabetic, who has had shortness of breath with cold symptoms of sneezing, sinus drainage, and non productive cough. Now I have pain between my shoulder blades, no energy. I am thinking I need to go to the clinic and perhaps have an x ray.
Hi, If I were your treating Doctor for this case of shortness of breath and interscapular pain, I would come up with two possibilities, these include:
1. As you are diabetic, i will suggest you a ECG to rule out any Myocardial infarction/ Angina. It is an emergency condition. And also your age is 58, better do an ECG and rule out Myocardial infarction ie. Heart attack
2. Second possibility is Lower respiratory tract infection as you have shortness of breath with cold symptoms of sneezing, sinus drainage, and non productive cough. As diabetic are immunocompromised, they may prone for infections frequently. I would treat you with antibiotics and Nebulization.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health.
