Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
How can I know for sure that it is a UTI? If tested at a doctor s office, will they tell me the specific bacteria that caused the infection or if it is fungal bacteria? Also, what is the best anit-biotic for treatment of the UTI. Since I read that it depends on the type of infection, how long will it take to diagnose the specific type of infection causing the UTI. Is it necessary to do a culture on the urine sample? If so, how long does that take?
Dear patient , regarding your problem yes there are various methods to test whether you have ,bacterial or fungal infection , but as a general physician i will recommend you to have complete Urinary analysis if it shows any bacteria and start up with antibacterial . ok .
