Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am a 38 year old female and have been diagnosed with early RA. I have a radiating pain in my hip and groin (left side). It started in January this year, and has gotten progressively worse. I did not injure my hip or leg. Xrays of my hips and lower back are normal. It gets bad when I sit or stand with my weight on that leg. Pain medication bring only slight relief. I also get frequent calf cramps at night in my left leg. I eat a lot of salt, but by sodium levels are low. My urine output is 5 liters per day. I also feel a bubling sensation in my groin sometimes
I can help you better if you post x ray reports and blood reports to me.
You can take dose of methotrexate. I will advise dose 7.5mg weekly. You can start combination consulting your treating doctor
NSAIDs, DMARDs (disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs) are sometimes prescribed in severe cases. Newer biologics have role in RA.
