Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I have a painful little lump right in the center of the ball of my left foot. Feels like a little growth under the skin, and what looks like a little, oh, wart, I guess on the surface. A cyst (sp) maybe? Require a podiatrist? Nuts! Thanks
Abscess need to be ruled out, it can be lymph node with a bacterial infection, initially antibiotic can be tried, like Amoxicillin with a full course of five days and dose need to be adjusted according to age and weight of the patient.
If lesion does not subside then excision is necessary, in case of pus collection it has to be drained surgically, for the pain anti-inflammatory drugs can be tried like Ibuprofen.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Akhtarhusain, General & Family Physician
