Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I m 45 and I ve got pain in both elbows Feeling bruised to the touch and hurts when straightening them out fully Also it hurts to lift objects and I ve got constant pain , especially in bed I m a carpenter by trade but I don t do repetitive hammering or sawing thanks to electric power tools which is why I m confused with my symptoms as I don t do anything repetitive. To bring on tennis elbow or golfers elbow Any advise would be appreciated
Your symptoms make me think of the following conditions:
1) olecranon or elbow bursitis
2) rheumatoid arthritis 3) gout or pseudo gout.
For appropriate treatment, an accurate diagnosis is a key. For this the following are important:
1) thorough clinical examination by the specialist
2) if the need arises, X-ray of both the involved joints 3) blood testing for rheumatoid factor, c-reactive protein, erythrocytes sedimentation rate (ESR).
So, it’s better if you see an orthopedic specialist and discuss the above issues. Please let me know if you need further assistance from my side.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Pallavi.m,
Anesthesiologist
