Hi I m 57 yr female with history of mito myopathy. I have been sick with sore throat upper throat swelling began Thursday which was relieved on Friday with coughing out the thick gobs of yellow brown tinged mucous. Bad sinus headache Saturday. Drainage still thick yellow lightening up as day progresses. Today saw the PA at my dr office. Heard some noise in left lower lobe. Thick sinus drainage in back of throat. Chills red face but no fever. Started zpack at 230 pm today. The swelling has moved to the vocal cord area with some strider when I inhale. I have a cool mist vaporizer and I have been using qvar steroid inhaler. I also use CPAP at night. I m really scared because I had laryngeal spasms in 2003. I don t want them again. They were believed to be caused my reflux. I have albuteral inhaler and xooenex aerosol but I don t like to use them as they worsen the mito and cause tachycardia and anxiety symptoms. Any other suggestions are appreciated.
