Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have two bulging discs in my lower back with sciatic nerve pain (very severe pain in lower back and front and back of both legs, I really don't have a good quality of life right now because of the pain! I am going to a pain management doctor who is going to burn those nerves to help with my pain, will that help me, I don't know how much longer I can go on like this!
Hello, the pain therapy is a treatment for the pain (the symptom) and not the condition which is the disc bulging. Regarding your situation, the anti inflammatory and muscle relaxant drugs may be helpful to release the spasm in our back, also physical therapy would help by strengthening your muscles. The pain therapy you are going to have may be helpful for a period of time, but it is not the definite solution. i suggest that after the pain therapy you have regular physical exercises, to keep the muscles strong and prevent the bulging from progressing. Best regards, Anisa
