How Can severe Foot Cramps Be Treated?

Hi. Im Ilene. I was a gymnast for 13 years but i recently quit. I know that I have an accessory navicular bone in my foot because it was giving me problems. But i rested it and its better now that im not doing gymnastics. Recently, about once a week, I ve been getting horrible cramps on the inside of my foot near the navicular bone. the doctors also mentioned my arch was falling last time i went. I dont want to have to go again if its not necessary. these cramps are so sharp, i almost cry. i cant move my foot at all and i can put any pressure on it. I havent timed it but i believe that they dont last very long. Usually they occur at night when im sitting down at my desk doing homework. Please help me.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As of now you can use analgesics/anti inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persists you can consult an orthopaedician and get evaluated. You might require an MRI scan for further assessment. In severe cases surgical correction may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
