How Can severe Lower Back Pain Be Treated?

I was experiencing lower back pain and foot pain but I just ignored. Then suddenly dawn time I woke up with very intense pain from my lower back down to lower extremities and my both legs are very weak and I cant stand and walk because the pain increasing, I was admitted in the hospital and the gone Xray and seen levoscoliosis and scoliosis. As to my MRI result, I have mild disc bulge in L4-L5 and L5-S1 with posterior annular tear at L4-L5. Dis desiccations, L4-L5 and L5-S1. Accentuated lumbar lordosis with predisposition to lumbosacral instability I had my physical therapy four session. My doctor advised me for 2mos. rest from work (office work but travelling 1 hr each house to work and vice versa). But I just rest for a week and resume to office and pain is still there. He advised me to put binder wrap/brace but I did not buy up to now, still taking collagen as prescribed within 6mos. Is the months rest will heal my condition? Now that I did not follow that 2mos. rest, will it worsen my illness?

Hi i am Dr Ahmed Aly
thanks for using HealthcareMagic site ,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns ..

In my opinion resting will help your back to heel but you need to avoid heavy lifting , over weighing , vigorous movements , bad sleeping and sitting postures and follow your doctors orders to prevent further complications and even more time to loose your pain .
Physiotherapy with a chiropractor , hot massages , spinal straightening exercises , painkillers like advil when needed , topical anti-inflammatory gels , muscle relaxants , B12 vitamin supplements will be effective for most of cases .
