How Can severe Nose Bleeds Along With Headache Be Treated?
My 87 year old mom has had two minor strokes looking no function except signs of dementia. Recently she is suffering from severe nose bleeds that are hard to stop. Can there be a connection? We did a CT which only showed old strokes. She does have severe headaches causing her to stay in bed most days.
It may be due to the effect of blood thinners was is taking for stroke. Uncontrolled hypertension can also cause nose bleeding in elderly.
Consult a physician and get evaluated. As of now drugs like Tranexemic acid can be tried for symptomatic relief.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
