How Can severe Pain And Stiffness In The Joint Be Treated?

I am experiencing joint pain and stiffness for the last couple of weeks and I think it may be related to some medications I take which are the generic for Wellbutrin (budiproprian?) and I was taking Chantix and Amitriptiline for restless legs. Could that be?

Hello,

Joint pain might be a side effect of Wellbutrin, but this occurs rarely.

Generally joint pain accompained with stiffness that lasts for some weeks, are related to rheumatologic disorders. I suggest you to consult a doctor, for a more detailed history, and a physical examination.

He might ask you to do a complete blood count analysis, fibrinogen blood test, rheumatoid factor. I also suggest you to take:

-painkillers (ibuprofen or naproxen) for pain relief and to reduce inflamation of the joints.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
