General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have gone through your description and I can understand your concerns.

As per your description you are having chronic cough for three months, its quite long and need to be evaluated.
i suggest you to consult a general physician and get the following things done:-
(1)- A chest X-ray PA view to look for any lung condition.
(2)- Sputum examination to rule out tuberculosis especially if you have a history of travel to tropical countries.
(3)- A short course of antibiotics can be tried empirically for five to seven days. Levofloxacin is highly effective in respiratory tract infection.
(4)- Antihistamines like levocetrezine would provide symptomatic relief.
(5)- You can also go for nebulization with bronchodialator drugs.
(6)- You can use a cough syrups for suppress your cough. Do not use codeine containing syrups which are not suitable for your age.
Additional investigations like CT scan or spirometry may be needed depending upon the initial evaluation.
Hope I have answered your query.
Regards.
