How Can swelling And Pain In The Toenail Be Treated?
Hi I clipped my toddler big toenail too short from side n thn after 3 days it s got red n swaloon I put plaster n it looked better after but then after few days he got tiny pus in it on side n I soaked it in salty bath water n it s removed but it s red n from side n if I squeezed got fluid,is there s sumthin to worry?
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.
Clipping big toenail too short from side increases the chances to get the nails growing inside and causing infection. This has happened to your toddler after clipping his big toenail too short.
I advise to keep soaking in salty water; apply oxygenated water on the sides and betadine 10%.
Avoid soaking in hot/warm water as this increases chances for swelling more.
It will take a few more days until the toe is completely grown outside and swelling is totally resolved.
Avoid clipping his nails too short next time. Wish fast recovery.
